Why are there white lines and a black spot on my MacBook Pro display?

My problem is that I have several white lines running across my screen and a black circle on the bottom right corner. These are new problems for me.

For a while now, I've had a persistent white flickering line just above the Apple bar (File, Edit, View etc.) I restarted my system and the problems are still present.

System Specs:

  • MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
  • Processor 2 GHz Intel Core i7
  • Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
  • Graphics Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Your display has failed! Time to replace it MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Late 2013 Display Assembly Replacement.

Sadly, do to COVID parts are getting hard to find for this series. You’ll need the find one somewhere: 15” MacBook Pro Complete Display, (13/14) Apple P/N 661-8310.

Apple no longer services this system as its on the Vintage and obsolete products list. An independent Mac repair shop might have the needed part and is able to get you going.
