Charging adapter extremely hot while charge

Hi there.

Is there normal when charging tip is so hot it is unable to touch it while it is chargin.

I got 15inch MBP 2011 - I know it suppose to have 85W charger - and I use 60W charger - but I remember with my other MBP 15 2011 it was ok - with this one - it is extreme hot

MacBook is charging as normal

Or is it possibe it is happening as charging port inside macbook has peeled that “grey plastic sticker” and now has bare metal.

Other thing is - when MacBook is in sleep mode - charging tip is ok - just warm

Yes because that model needs the 85W charger. When the 60W charger is being used it is using the full power capacity of the charger which is why it is hot to the touch.

no it is not true.

1. I am using 60W charger - not 65W

2. Charging tip must be damaged as I purchased new charger - it is almost cold to touch while charging.

3. Fun fact was that - that "damaged" charger is workign perfectly fine.

Crazy

If the other 2011 was an nvidia gpu model and this one is an AMD model one must be using more power than the other
