My Home Buttons keep failing, and I dont know why.

This has happened to me personally on two different iPhone 7s. I removed the front panel and then uninstalled the ear speaker to clean out the mesh on the front panel, then went and put it all back together. As of this point I tested the device and everything was working correctly. The device sat for only maybe 2 hours, then was tested again and the home button was clicking on rapid fire mode, going extremely fast. I thought maybe I damaged the LCD connection cable, so I took it apart and reinstalled the home button and ear speaker on a new front panel to test it. At this point the home button was not being recognized at all. I thought it was the front panel so i tried another, and same result. I put the home button back on the OEM front panel and again it did not function at all. There is absolutely 0 physical damage to the home button. It has been looked over underneath a microscope. The shop I work for does not have the capabilities of attempting to microsolder a new touch IC chip. Was wondering if anyone has any similar issues and/or solutions?

The only solution I have found for a quick fire home button on the 7 series is to replace or re-flow the turtle IC. Maybe you could outsource the repair or bite the bullet and have apple replace the screen. We always ask the customer if their home button is working but they don’t always tell the truth. We have stopped offering this repair unless we think we might have caused it as the flex under turtle is very fragile.
