F61 indicates a faulty tuner/amplifier IC601.
Here’s the service manual (direct download link) which should help.
Also make sure that there are no short circuits on the speaker cable(s) connections etc

What makes it to become hot and shut off?
Components become hot due to too much current flowing through them.
This is usually caused by short circuits or components failing.
When this occurs protection circuits in the device shutdown the device to prevent any further damage from occurring.
As the manual suggests test IC601 to see if it is faulty.
