MCP 13 won't start with battery connected

Hey,

the MBP just didn’t turn on one day in the morning. After hours charging it had another 10 sec successful boot, showing the battery as empty, and then dying forever.

We brought it to an official Apple Reseller to check and diagnosis was: logic-board broken, EUR 600 for replacement.

We then just took it to another independent repair shop, who opened the machine right there and figured that if you disconnect the battery, it boots up as normal. The technician showed that when measuring the electricity at the charging port, it showed normal voltage but no change in amperage (which the technician pointed out as strange).

They will be looking into it over the next couple of days but curious what your take here would be on the issue? There was no water damage or anything related.

Many thanks
