Have a really badly cracked screen Ive never done it before bought new part need to know the best way to removed the cracked one its falling apart as I try to pry it should I just peel it off?

Yep,just try and peel as much of the screen off in one piece as you can.as long as you don't apply pressure onto internal parts or go mad pulling bits off with a paintscraper or other oversized tool you should be fine. Put on a pair of goggles..those shards can fly! I've just taken 2 cracked screens off 4g's and I didn't use the heat gun at all. Most small pieces seem to stick to the adhesive and then you can peel that up. Just remember to take the metal "shield" off the top of the digitiser glass..you'll need it.

what shield are you talking about?
its about 1" long and 1/2" wide with a semicircle cutout and a hole in it. If you look at the guides you'll see it on the underside of the glass/digitiser at the upper end.

what did you buy to replace the cracked screen with? im not sure what ill actaullly need to use and i dont want to be scammed
