Display with pink Screen lines

The Screen of my MacBook Pro 1708 from 2017 just turned pink.

I got vertical lines all over the screen as you can see in the picture.

When it’s nearly closed, you can see it a bit flickering in the normal colors so there it’s not the typical flexgate backlight problem. It’s ike there is a broken LCD Cable.

Could it be something in that direction or would it be more possible that it’s caused by a Pixel failure?

Ouch! Not good ;-{

The problem you are seeing is the display failure caused by a bang along the bottom edge of the system or you closed the lid on something which pushed into the chainplate which likely broke it and pushed into the ribbon cables just behind it as an example:

oh that sounds pretty bad :(

Is there no other option to make it work again? I repaired some iPhones, the latest one was a Backcover of the iPhone X, which was tricky cause of the glue, but it works fine.

Maybe there an option to change this chainplate by removing the front glass of the Screen or do you think there is no other way?

thanks for your help!

Its not the chin plate its self its the damage from it to the ribbon cables behind it. Is your chin plate cracked? Its a thin piece of glass.

To clarify: The thin wires within the ribbon cable have been damaged and/or the connection of the cables to the T-CON or LCD panel its self.

Sorry there is no options ;-{

Danj that is not correct this is not caused by physical damage - just by opening and closing the screen. The image comes back again at certain angles meaning it is the cable connecting the display. Apple needs to repair this issue free of charge and likely will if you take it into an Apple store. They also need to include it in an extended warranty program as it is widespread. See here for more hundreds of more cases just like it: https://appleissues.net/t/flexgate2-macb...

@robomartion - I've seen three systems with this affliction! In all three cases damaged was visible either on the black clutch cover or a damaged chip plate as well as on the ribbon cables them selves.

The fact you can tilt the display making the problem come and go just means the damaged connection(s) is making and breaking contact.

The problem is Apple won't accept this as a defect (in my mind it is a design defect too! The gap and structure of the clutch cover and the thin glass chin cover does not protect the cables enough) as it is the action of the owner banging the clutch cover at the right angle to press it in (flexes) damaging the cables or leaving an object on the keyboard when they close the lid. The gap between the keyboard keys and the display is tighter with these systems so there is less space. It only takes a paperclip to kill your display!

In the end there is only one solution - replacement of the display assembly!

If you can get Apple to do under a warranty exception thats great!
