Replaced screens but ds won't turn on.

I replaced my ds screens. But when I went to turn on at the end it didn't turn on at all. It flickers orange when I start to put charger in then nothing.

Also read other answers. I've not put in a foam backing to separate screen and motherboard. If I do this will it then work or would the mother board have been shorted out?
