MacBook Pro 15" Mod- 2010 Odd issues. Won't turn on.

I shut my computer off using the button of doom prior to installing upgraded RAM and battery. I am a novice at computer repai and was hoping to do a quick upgrade to my now 10yr old computer. My computer was working great up until that point. Since then I have tried powering it on many times. It won’t budge no sounds, or screen just black. My magsafe does show green and my battery indicator light shows 100%. Before the battery was fully charged it did show amber, but no blinking or dim lights. I feel like Ive tried everything short of replacing the logic board I have tried:

  • Replacing the old battery and RAM.
  • Trying every combination of old/ new battery and old / new RAM.
  • Double checked thqt the RAM WAS SEATED CORRECTLY
  • Reseting the SMC & NVRAM
  • unplugging the battery trying to run only on ac power.
  • Holding power key for ten seconds, then pressing again.
  • Disconnecting the keyboard and pwering with the powerpads on the logic board.
  • Disconnecti g the keyboard and using
  • Unplugging the battery for 5 seconds holding the power button then plugging the battery back in.
  • Powering with the battery and ac adapter.

I Really dont want to have to replace the logicboard on a 10 year old computer, but I juat wantwed to see if anyone had any other suggestions.

This is what I found for your RAM: Timetec Hynix IC 8GB KIT (2x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz PC3-10600 Non ECC Unbuffered 1.5V CL9 2Rx8 Dual Rank 204 Pin, Low Density 8GB (2x4GB)

You didn’t get the correct RAM for your system! You need PC3-8500 DDR3 1066 MHz.

Here’s Apples memory guide for your system: MacBook Pro: How to remove or install memory

Oh, ok. I can buy new RAM. Do you know however if it might have shorted something because I did place the old RAM back, and still no start up.

Its possible you damaged the sockets. Remove the RAM and look into the sockets do you see a damaged pin or the key tab?

With no RAM restart the system do you get a beep code as well as any change in the display (the color should shift a bit or just boot up to a grey screen)
