Kenmore Elite Oasis top loading washer-fabric softener not dispensing

We have a Kenmore Elite Oasis HE top loading washing machine model 110.27082603 that has quit dispensing fabric softener. I have taken off the little bracket that’s over the opening, cleaned out that space and tried poking around to see if it is clogged in that area. It’s clean now, but still not dispensing anything ( tried a small amount of water in that spot and ran it through a rinse/spin cycle, and that water is still there).

Any other suggestions? I’ve scoured this forum and YouTube videos, but most of what I’m seeing is for front loading washers or top loading where the fabric softener is on the spindle in the center of the machine. This machine does not have the rotator/spindle part. Thank you!
