Touch ID & Battery drain

Hello,

my question is regarding and iPad Pro 10,5” with iPadOS 13.4 that I bought couple of years ago.

Suddenly, Touch ID stopped working and it gives me error when I try to activate it, tighter with it my fully charged Battery won’t last more than 3/4 hours.

I’ve red around and this seems a frequent problem in iPhone 6 but I didn’t find anything regarding the iPad.

I wanted to know your touts and if it is a good idea to open it and check the connection or is it too risky…
