Entry level Photosmart printer introduced in 2009. Uses HP Tri-Color ink cartridges with a disposable printhead.

HP C4780 printing only blank pages

Looks and sounds like it’s printing but every page comes out blank. Changed cartridges, ran printhead cleaning multiple times and still nothing. On the cleaning test pages, I do get some cyan lines but nothing else. Ideas?

Most of the technology in HP desktop printers is in the cartridges. Did you use genuine HP cartridges? Have they been sitting for a long time? If so they may be blocked. Try taking the cartridges out and carefully putting some water on the print head edges of the cartridges and let it sit. Hopefully this will dissolve any hardened ink. Then carefully dry them with kitchen roll and try again.
