Power adapter weird behavior

Hi everybody,

My macbook pro not charging when I plugged in the original charger that come with my macbook. But when I test with a fake magsafe 2 charger, it worked. And then I test my original charger with another macbook pro 15”, it also worked. I did that test with several original and fake magsafe 2 chargers on my macbook pro, the fakes worked, but the originals didn't.

Please, if any one knows what happened with my macbook pro or my magsafe 2, please tell me. Should I buy a new original charger or a fake one?

Thank you!

Gekozen oplossing

An aftermarket charger doesn’t perform an handshake with the system as the original charger does, it just releases power regardless. There’s likely a board level issue at first power stage, preventing the original charger to release power as it detects system onewire is faulty. Although an aftermarket charger “works”, you’re highly increasing odds to add to board damage as it is already working in a condition it shouldn’t run at all.
