My Galaxy S4 has the sound on but the phone is black.

Ok so my mom had this Samsung 4 and it just stopped working. What I did was charge it and it Charged. I tried to turn it on but it wasn’t’ turning on. It always plays songs randomly and when I plug in the charger it makes the sound to tell you it is charging. I looked on youtube and I researched and I DID EVERYTHING. I pressed volume up/down the home button and power button I took out the battery and held the power button for 5 minutes then It still didn’t work. I tried everything and also I don’t have to tools to open the screen and I am not wasting 200-300 dollars for a screen repairment. I am desperate to fix it since my other phone broke.
