Why is my phone not charging and giving off a burning smell?

I have a Samsing Galaxy A5 (2017). One day it stopped charging and when plugged in, a burning smell is released from the charging port. The other end of the cable also gives off a burning smell. Any solutions, or advice on what I should replace? Also, what is the best adhesive/tape I can use to install the acrylic back after removing it? I’m looking for some adhesive that I can find somewere like bestbuy or walmart.

Thanks.

@thestrangeslav something on your charging circuitry went array. You want to go ahead and stop trying to charge it etc. Then you want to go ahead and disassemble your device. Start this by using these guides Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and/or this video Then check your circuit boards for obviously damaged components etc. Post some good pictures of your boards with your QUESTION. That way we can see what you see. Voeg afbeeldingen toe aan een bestaande vraag

if you smell a burning smell at both ends of the cable try a different USB Adapter and see what it does. on the samsung galaxy a5 it does not use adhesive, the screen just clips in.

Actually this model the screen is held by very strong adhesive. There is also adhesive for the back glass.

It sounds like the USB-C charging socket on the phone needs to be replaced. This is quite difficult to do as it is soldered onto the logic board. This I would leave it to a local reputable phone repair shop to get it fixed.

First thing to do is try another wall charger and cable if you still smell the same electrical burning smell it means the problem is with the charger port instead.
