Black screen on MacBook

Hello, so today I went to turn on my MacBook, but I was met with a black screen . Yes it is charged, yes I checked to see if the brightness was down, and yes, I tried all of the VRAM reset solution things that are suggested. None of them worked. The MacBook itself seems to turn on, as in all of the keys are lit up, and the caps lock lights works, but it seems that the problem is with the display. I have also noticed that when I shake my MacBook, I can hear and feel something moving around. Is this the issue? Did a cable get unplugged or broken?

most probably your unit was subjected to fall, thus you hear there is something loose inside. the bad news are that all the connectors are fixed with the retainers by screws, so what you hear most probably are some of the screw's mounts are broke off. take a look inside. avoid further shaking since you never know where those loose parts will end up in there. avoid powering the unit on if you can. post the pics with what you'll find.

@ckelly27 … could be a backlight issue. try to shine a flashlight at the screen or behind the back on the apple logo to see if you can see an image. if so, the backlight circuit needs to be repaired. if not, further diagnostics are required.

post back with findings for any additional assistance.
