Currently whenever I call people on the phone, they can only hear me if I put my phone on speaker phone. Is this an ic issue or can it be fixed by replacing the front earpiece?

Being an iPhone 7 I’d say Audio IC, but being a big repair I’d like to have some other symptom before getting into it. Try and check all other sound related functions, including voice memos recording and playback. If you have no other evidence I’d replace the front microphone flex assembly to start with.

Every other audio related function works( Voice memos, Siri, Notifications, Videos, etc). So do you think it’s just the front mic?
Doubt it, theres a back speaker as well, if they can't hear you at all, I would say its the start of Audio IC Failure.
@matthewaj13 I just said I'd start from there being an easier and cheaper repair and because I have no way to tell: hope for the best.
@charles_pilling Since when the back microphone is used on speakerphone calls ?
