My zippi fan fell off my desk, and no longer works.
My Zippi fan fell off my desk, and now no longer works. I’m not the handiest person, but I’d love to fix it instead of buying a new one. Any thoughts?

Try listing to the motor when you turn in on, depending on the damage you could have simply pent something preventing the motor from turning. If this is the case, try to repair the damage. if it is not the case, you can open it up and pull out your multi meter, see where the power issue is.
Finally if no power issue a motor may need to be replaced

I have to say that while this is an old question, it's not a good answer and shows little knowledge of the product. I came to this site hoping ifixit might have the necessary part(s) to repair the fan. I can't find the source right now, but I researched this before and what I understand is that there's a small, simple - VERY INEXPENSIVE (under $2.00) - fuse that will burn out to prevent damage to the motor if the fan blades are unable to turn. In other words, it can be fixed. I'd like to fix my two non-working fans as opposed to buying yet another (which would be my 5th zippi over the last 15+years. They're the best small fan I've found and it's a shame to waste these over a $2.00 part.
I have to agree re the answer and the burnt out fuse. I have a number of zippi fans - they have not fallen or been dropped etc. but have just stopped working - I'm presuming also the burnt out fuse but thought I'd find a "how to take apart and fix common problems" on ifixit - sounds like it should be relatively simple - rather than waste what has been a good fan for a number of years for the sake of a fuse. I know you can't do every device but these are quite common and people could always do with a basic how fans work and how they breakdown and easy fixes - even if only general in nature.
