Why my ps4 is still overheating when starting a game though its clean

Recently i’ve cleanedfrom inside my ps4 and turned it on

The problem is when i start any game it overheats quickly and gets alot of hot air from the back

  • Ive tried to change the thermal paste but it didnt worked
  • The problem started after i opened and cleaned the ps4 for the first time and i am sure that everything is put in place inside the ps4
  • So whats the problem ? and What should i do ? Help please

The problem started after i opened and cleaned the ps4 for the first time and i am sure that everything is put in place inside the ps4

To make sure:

  • Are all the thermal pads on both sides of the logic board where the black memory chips present?
  • Has the clamp that holds the heatsink down installed in the right orientation?

The clamp should have both ends facing away from the board before screwing it down.

  • Was the heatsink removed from the housing of the PS4?

The heatsink fins tend to accumulate dust the most.

Did you use good thermal paste? Cheap eBay crap can cause this issue. Is it something good like arctic brand?

Are all thermal pads on the ram chips there? Did you put the metal plate and 2 screws back on the heat sync and cpu? Did you plug in the fan? It’s very easy to forget to plug in the fan.

Bro i've noticed that the thermal paste is spread only on the edge of the cpu should i reapply it and put in the middle

Do you mean the silver rectangle in the middle? If so,YES. This is the only part that needs it on the PS4 the green part of the cpu doesn’t need it. The silver part is the main processing part. If you didn’t put any on there,this is why you’ve been having issues...

It’s best to squirt some in the center of the silver rectangle. Don’t spread it out. Just put a decent gumdrop of it on there. Putting on the heat sink will force it to spread evenly and squirt out excess on the outside edges...

Wipe off the old stuff with rubbing alcohol and cue tips. Don’t touch it with your fingers. Squirt paste on it,and the heat sink will spread it out. The silver rectangle is the hottest part of the cpu.
