iPhone stuck in recovery mode

I was trying to downgrade from the iOS 13 beta to iOS 12.4.1 but during the restore, there was an error and now it’s stuck in recovery mode no matter what I do. Whenever I try again I get the same “unexpected error (9)”. Everything is updated, I tried using a different cable, and turning off my antivirus (all things that came up when i looked up this problem). The error comes up at the “verifying iPhone software” stage of the restore.

Error 9 could be indicative of a corrupted NAND IC. If you cannot get the phone through recovery via DFU mode, you may have a logic board issue (NAND) and only re-programming the NAND will get you device back in working order. This requires micro-soldering experience, is an advanced repair given the complexities of the X logic board configuration and requires a special programming device that few shops have on hand. Ask lot’s of questions before having it repaired and don’t trust low-ball shops.

The “unexpected error (9)” message can be caused by the iOS device disconnecting during the restore process. There may be a way you can remedy the problem.

First, download the latest version of iTunes and download all pending updates to your computer.

Second, force your iPhone to restart.

Third, connect your iPhone to your computer using s USB cable.

Fourth, when iTunes asks you to Update or Restore, choose Update - NOT Restore - to reinstall iOS and keep your personal data.
