iPhone 7 Home Button

Okay so my home button on my 7 is cracked and the home function and Touch ID does not work. If I take the U10 from the broken button and put it on a different non cracked one will my home button work? Please note I don't care about Touch ID I just want my home button to work. Thanks

I’m sorry to report this Ethan but when TouchID doesn’t work on 7 and newer phones, the home button gets disabled and AssistiveTouch gets turned on automatically. To restore functionality only Apple and select Best Buy stores have the right tools to make it work again. Apple has this tool called a Horizon Machine which pairs the home button to the logic board. Only Apple and some Best Buy stores have these.

I don’t live in the US and I know about the horizon machines etc as I repair a lot of different devices. What I asked about what about the U10 chip being replaced onto a different non damaged button for JUST home functionality.

I don’t know about the U10, but I googled and there are some YouTube videos about it. If you don’t want to or can’t replace the U10 chip you should look into a Bluetooth home button -
