Siemens dishwasher - water drains only after slightly moving hose

The dishwasher works fine, but sometimes the water does not drain after the cycle finishes - i have the bottom part uncovered and if i gently move the hose, the water drains completely and fast, no problem. Pump has been replaced very recently just to test if it was that - it was not. Interestingly, moving the hose during the cycle also results in the water being pumped out correctly at the end.

The dishwasher is clean, there seems to be no debris or foods stuck anywhere, all dishes are rinsed before use. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have a kink in the drain hose somewhere. Try to follow the drain hose with a flash light. If you can’t find it, you could turn the power off to dishwasher and pull it out, but in doing so, you might correct the kink and pushing it back in might kink it again.

If you can secure the hose somehow when it’s in a good position to drain, that would probably be the easiest fix. Ziptie it to something or what’re you can to get it to stay in the position that allows it to drain.
