Car shuts off when warmed up
car starts and runs fine until engine heats up to operating tempature, then it stalls, it will restart but keeps stalling until engine cools down. What can cause this?

Hey akajuwan.
A failure with the Crankshaft Position Sensor, the Ignition Control Module, and/or the Throttle Position Sensor could cause intermittent stalling. That said, it’s important to check the wires and connectors (pins) associated with these aspects, as corrosion or physical damage, etc., to the wires or connectors could actually be the problem, and not the actual sensor or module.
Might be able to provide more helpful info if you would provide the details on your model.
Was dit antwoord nuttig?
Possible it could be a cracked distributor cap, when the car warms up cap expands causing fire to jump and run badly or not at all.

I'm having this problem with 1992 Buick Century 3300. Shuts off when it reaches operating temp. I replaced the fuel injectors, thermostat, coolant temp sensor, and intake manifold gasket. Car still stalls.
