Is this agitator supposed to swish left right or instead go up & down
Have a Whirlpool Clean Touch bought used. Every washer ive had previously agitated back and forth ie left right. This one is not but instead agitator is going up and down but with very little range. Is that the newer way, I’m not impressed cause whats on top gets no agitation. Is this correct or is something faulty this supposed to swish/swash. If this is not agitating properly any suggestions. Thanks

Sounds like an agitator related issue that needs attention. Sometimes the agitator "dogs" wear out (inexpensive), and sometimes it may be the agitator itself that needs replacement (more expensive, but not difficult to accomplish). But as Joshua Freeman commented, really need your washer's model number to make progress toward resolving.
