It makes ice, dumps into the bucket but will not dispense.

@ladytech …I’ve tried to find the answer on the many topics you’ve replied to first, but didn’t find one that exactly fit my needs. However, this one is the closest.I have a Samsung RS25J50 it’s a side by side with the ice maker in the top left corner of the freezer. It makes ice, dumps into the bucket regularly until full but will not dispense.

I’ve tried to reset, checked the arm for frozen ice, checked 100+ times to ensure it was put back into the freezer properly, and nada.

I’m typically a “pro” at fixing just about anything, including the “motherboard” on my former LG frig. So not being able to figure this one out has me extremely frustrated.

Any help/ advice would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Nikki

Anyone find an answer to this? I do not see an answer to the original question. No my door is not open. It makes n drops ice into the bucket but it won’t drop through the Di soda die the dispenser does not make a noise, is it a motor in the dispenser which is on the door? Or could it be frozen in there? If it’s frozen wouldn’t it make a noise as it tries to move the ice ? Any help? Thank you

Nikki, when you press your glass on dispenser do you hear anything? You should hear the auger motor come on. It’s behind the ice bin. Pull the bin out and you’ll see the stainless auger blades. If you don’t hear that motor, listen for a clicking noise from behind your cup. There is a micro switch behind where you press your cup. It will click on and off when you press then remove your cup. You should also hear the ice shoot door open and shut. This is the little flapper door above your cup. It opens and ice falls. If the ice maker is making ice, and the ice bin is full and the ice isn’t frozen together, when you press your cup for ice, a switch will click and the auger motor should start turning. If you hear the motor, make sure the blades are turning Pull out the ice bin, leave door open, press the door switch so it thinks the door is closed then activate the ice dispenser. The stainless steel blades should be turning. Inspect the rear of ice bin where those stainless blades match up to when the bin is in place. Can you turn those by hand? If so, look in the bin while turning to see if it’s pushing the ice towards the front opening. Try crushed ice setting then cubed ice. Do you get one but not the other? I hope this helps you find the problem. Let me know how it goes.

I have this problem too. The motor behind the ice maker does not turn on. I've removed the motor assembly and connected 110V direct and it works. Checked dispenser switch in door and it works. Don't know how the door closed switch is configured. Can it be the controller board? How is this checked? Where can I find wiring diagram?

The ice won’t dispense if the door is open. If you door switch is bad it could cause this issue.

I have this problem too. My fridge is a 4 door Samsung. My water dispenser works fine. It doesn't make a sound when pushing the dispenser handle. I turned the auger blades by hand. I took all ice out of bin but no luck. Any other ideas? Thanks

Jamie, check the auger motor. It is what turns the auger blade.

My lg will work sometimes you can hear the click but nothing happens if you keep playing with it it will kick on i can tell because the light comes on when it works. What could this be.

We have an LG LSC27950st. The ice has not dispensed in years. We thought it was because the flapper was not closing and was freezing the ice. We replaced the ice bin and replaced the flapper. It still will not dispense. When you put your glass to the dispenser you DO hear the motor running and the flapper opens. The water works and it does make ice. I have looked online and do not see a clear answer. When we remove the ice bin, the metal tabs on the back that should engage it DO NOT move at all. We tried to get it to budge but it seems stuck in place. Is that supposed to move freely? None of the parts diagrams show this part at all. Also, when we remove the new ice bin itself and move the assembly on the back or the little metal arm on the back they do not move in a full rotation. The rotating parts on the new bin itself only seem to rotate 1/4 turn to the left or the right, are these supposed to rotate 360?

I have this issue also, everything works perfect except auger motor NOT turning on when cup pushes switch. Old auger motor turns free and auger in ice bucket turn freely. Bought a new auger motor assembly still does not turn on auger at all. Fridge door switch tells me if its left open so must be working? Water dispenser works perfect. Tried reset switch multiple times. Samsung RF4289HARS/XAA

Did you find a solution to your problem?

I'm having the same problem as dkterra1. Everything works, but the auger motor won't turn. I've tried everything, even replaced with a new auger assembly. Nothing. I have a Samsung RF27T5501SG/AA.

I'm going to check the door leveling thing, mentioned by Rob below.

I have the same Samsung RS25J50 Icemaker issue. The icemaker works but the dump tray motor stopped dumping the ice into the auger bucket.

So, I have to open the freezer door, pull the auger bucket part way out, reach in & manually push the traydump button, hold it for 2-3 secs, then push the bucket back into position for the ice to fall into it.

The ice tray then refills & freezes for 30 mins, & I start the process all over again.

Given, so many of you are reporting the same problem, sounds like this should be a Samsung recall item.

I have a samsung french door fridge freezer. It was making ice but not dispensing. Left door was lower than right door. There is adjusting nut under left hand lower corner of left hand door. Nut was loose. Adjusted until doors were level. Hey presto….ice dispenses.

Look on the inside of the left door at the very top. There is a button that is supposed to depress when door is closed. Open compartment in the top of the door just above the button and remove wires from switch. Jump the wires together with a small piece of wire. Try the ice dispenser again. If it dispenses then the switch is bad or not being depressed when the door is closed. I simply strip both wires and wire nutted them together. Fixed my problem and dispenser works great now. Just be careful not to get electrocuted by unplugging the unit before handling the wires. Plug back in to test and unplug again to strip and connect. Good luck!

So this is kind of a bizarre situation, but here is what happened: The unit was making ice just fine and dumping it into the "holding container" inside the fridge, but the ice would not dispense. The motor was working, auger turning, etc. It was exceedingly frustrating. Finally, I discovered that a small aluminum can - - like the size of one of those energy drinks - - had fallen from a shelf in the fridge and landed directly into the "holding container", thereby blocking it so that the ice could not come out. So I'd suggest you make sure that nothing is blocking the ice from coming out.

My Samsung ice maker started causing problems almost immediately but after two service calls where it worked for about a month after each repair, I haven't had it repaired and we don't have ice which is very frustrating. Our old refrigerator was over 20 years old and worked great but I wanted the ice to dispense outside of the unit with the water. Should have been happy with what I had because this fridge is the WORST one I've ever had or known about. It was so expensive, I don't want to replace it...can't afford to.

My Samsung American style fridge freezer ice maker is making ice ok, but ice dispenser flap just wont open whether set on cubed or crushed ice. Can hear motor etc when press receptacle up to switch, but flap simply won't open. Can open flap manually though so it's not seized up. The water dispenser is working fine. Other oddity is when I open freezer door, display panel shows temperature etc until door opened more than about 45 degrees & then display goes blank & ice dispenser makes loud clicking noise. Would a faulty freezer door switch cause ice dispenser flap not to open, or is it some other problem?
