my iphone vibrated about two hours ago. when i went to check why, the screen stayed black no matter what i pressed. i tried leaving it alone and charging it but nothing would work.

Your phone should still be under warranty as it is listed as a Verizon iPhone 4. Just call Apple at 1-800-275-2273 and tell them the problem and they will walk you though the checks and if it is bad they will schedule a repair.

Try a Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons for about 15 seconds until the iPhone turns on.
When you charge it make sure you use the Wall Charger until your problems are solved.
