hi
i installed a new segate hard drive and tried to install os x panther 10.3, i can see the apple black logo and running weel in the bigining and after some times the screen become black and see a arrow in the middle and stops installation. what i can do for fixing it . any body can help me

I think it's looking for a hard drive to install onto. From your system installation disk, go to the second screen pull down menu to Utilities > Disk utility. Select the drive on the left and format it. Now quit Disk Utilities and see if you can continue with your system installation.
UPDATE
Start up from your system installation disk by inserting the disk and restarting holding down the "C" key, go to the second screen pull down menu to Utilities > Disk utility. Select the drive on the left and format it. Now quit Disk Utilities and continue with your system installation. When finished, restart from the hard drive and register your software. Now go to Software Update under the Apple in the upper left hand corner, download and install the updates from Apple.

Reseat your RAM. Is the installation disk one that came with your computer? What color is it?
thank you for your reply. i have only the panther insallation disk. how can i go to the system installation disk. can you explain step by step.
If this gray disk is for another machine, it will not work for you. You'll need a retail installation disk.

The colour of the disk is gray, i have two disks, and i cant find any Ram fixed in the slot. i think it had built in 512 Ram on board
