Screen goes black then I turn off then works then back to black

My tv went black the other day I turned it off by the remote then back on it was working then next day happened again done the same worked for a day and now today when I turn it back on it works for a few hours then goes black with the sound still on happened a couple times already I unplugged it then plugged back in worked for few hours then went black it’s going back and forth is this happened to anyone need help

its a jvc smart tv

this sounds like your backlight failing. Check your power board for any obviously damaged components. When the screen turns dark, shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen. See if you can still make out any silhouettes etc. If so it’s your backlight. If not then there is the possibility this is either main or power board related. You will have to let us know what exact model your TV is. Once you remove the back from your TV post some good pictures of your boards with your question. That way we can see what you see. Hi @lprince,

Try doing this to see if you get a picture:

  1. Hold the Volume Down and Menu buttons
  2. While holding them, press the Power button then release the Power button only
  3. Wait five seconds then release of the Volume Down and Menu buttons
  4. Wait for approximately 30 seconds

Do you get a picture?
