Shows it’s charging but won’t boot

Hello! I just did a full replacement on my iPhone 5s changing wifi antenna back housing, battery, and screen! Got it all back together! But now it’s only showing the ‘needs charging’ and ‘charging symbols it won’t boot up, I tried plugging it in without a battery attached and it just bootloops showing the Apple symbol. Is this easily fixable or anything? Maybe I did something wrong lol

Lesson learned: NEVER replace multiple components at once. If something happens (as in your case) you don't know which component is causing the problem, if any.

How long after plugging it into the charger did you try to start it up?

Haha yes lesson learnt :p

Umm I left it on charge all night I even tried the older battery with the same issue haha!

The screws near the battery connector pass through the board to mounts on the housing of the phone so I don’t think you have damaged the board there as another post mentions.

If you haven’t yet, try booting the phone without the battery and without the front camera assembly. A damaged front camera can throw up some weird errors if it was damaged during the repair. It’s a long shot but a heck of a lot better than the next fault i’m about to mention. . .

If you got the screws mixed up when putting the shield over the screen connections, you may have long screw damaged the board there. With the screen removed and the charge port facing your body, check the bottom right screw hole for the screen connection shield. If a long screw has been screwed into that hole you may have destroyed a connection path in one of the boards layers. Not an easy repair, but a reputable shop should be able to help in this case.

Did you by chance maybe swap the battery connector screws? You might've damaged the logic board causing it to not recognize the battery right. If that's not it you could've just gotten a faulty battery. Most likely motherboard damage if it works turn on after replacing hardware. You can also try to factory reset it by placing it in dfu mode (power button plus home button while the phone is turned off) and reset it through iTunes or 3u tools

Hmm that could be a possibility but I thought I took care of what screw goes where lol Idk though. Maybe motherboard is damaged :/.

Yeah. Your main priority should be resetting it through iTunes then it seems. Who knows anything could happen
