Can I Mix an 8GB DDR3 1333mhz ram with a 8GB DDR3L 1600mhz ram?

Hi i just bought like a week ago while i was in USA(i am from another country) a Timetec 2x8GB(16GB) DDR3 1333mhz ram to upgrade the ram of my Macbook pro, but today i dont know what happened that 1 of the two rams stop working and as i said i am from another country which is difficult to me to return this to USA and apply the warranty… so i have this 8GB Kingston DDR3L 1600mhz ram from another computer that i dont use anymore and i wanna know if i can mix this two( the 1 from timetec that still works and the kingston).

thanks for your help.

I would start with trying to get what you have to work. Use just one chip and test it in both slots. then do the same with the other chip. This should tell you if the problem is the RAM or one of the slots. Let us know your finding and then we can proceed.

Problems can sometimes be solved by adjusting the tightness of the screws holding the RAM brackets.

UPDATE

The 1600 chip is not going to hurt your machine so I would try it all alone and see if it works.

Hi i put the 1600mhz ram and is working fine. Im gonna try with the two rams and then let you know what happen

The three beeps indicates a a bad RAM slot or a bad RAM stick. Move the known good stick to to other slot and try it to affirm which is failing.

I moved the good stick to the other slot and everything works fine.

Hey JOX, I have the same question. I wanna know if the two different RAM’s (1600 DDR3L and 1333 DDR3) worked for your Macbook? Have you had any troubles? Please let me know, thanks.
