Dead iPhone with badly dented B-LH corner. Why isn't it even charging?

Good evening, a friend of mine gave me his silver 32 GB iPhone 6 that fell from a very high place and hit the bottom left corner very hard, so hard that the headphone jack bent on itself due to the corner deforming, and after that it landed on its screen which exploded into pieces. The LCD panel behind the glass came off from the rest of the screen literally. The phone itself isn’t bent at all and apart from the screen and the corner I don’t see any damage, on the inside everything looks OK. I’ve tried connecting it to the wall charger for the night but still no sign of life, I’ve attempted to connect it to iTunes, tried to hard reset it, and still no sign of life at all, It’s just like a rock at the moment. The charger and the battery itself do not get warm at all, which makes me think that the charging dock might be dead. What do you think? What could be the issue? Could it be worth fixing it? I’m already experienced on Android phones and screen replacement, but I’ve never got my hands on an iPhone yet. Thanks :)

Charging dock includes audio jack for earspeakers. From your description wouldn’t be surprised the dock is gone for good, that’s the first thing to replace. Second one would be the battery, it might have survived the bad drop but it might be dead too. If the expense for these two basic parts doesn’t scare you, I’d give it a try, you may be lucky but get ready for other issues too.

Thanks. I'll try replacing the charging dock and put on it a test screen and see if anything happens. Otherwise I have nothing to waste. A dock costs me 8€ and can be used on another device in case.

@kwalters Yes, very little to lose in this case, a more than reasonable bet.

If the phone fell from a very high place, then the hardware damage that is keeping it from working could be anywhere, really. If there is no visible sign of damage, then the damage could be microscopic but still significant. The source of the damage is simply too difficult to “narrow down” given the circumstances, and there may even be more than one or two things broken.
