Is there a major problem replacing the inverter board?
I first believed that I had a display problem and was told that my inverter board was bad. Is this a major job?

Fortunately, iFixit makes jobs like these a lot easier, the guide rates it as "Very Difficult," so if you don't have any experience you might not want to start out with something like this, but if you think you can handle it, here is a link to where you buy the part, and the installation guide is linked on that page.
