Randomly appeared horizontal lines on iPhone 7, touch response is off

Hello all.

I was at work yesterday, and I just pulled my phone out of my pocket and went to look at it. It had horizontal lines all the way across the screen from top to bottom.

The phone seemed to function fine at first, but the touch response is off. It seems as though when I try to touch near the periphery, it doesn’t register. For example, whenever I try to use iMessage, the buttons at the bottom of the screen cant be touched (space bar, delete, etc) and when I press there, it registers me pressing one of the letters at the bottom of the keyboard instead. So I cant use iMessage and several other apps because of this. Everything towards the middle of the screen functions fine on touch response.

Any ideas? Thanks.

You more than likely just need a new screen. It sounds a lot like the touch disease that was common in iPhone 6s.

Simply installing a new screen will not fix touch disease. Touch disease is cause by the Touch IC coming away from the board
