Why won't my Maytag washer spin or agitate?

My Maytag that was recently purchased will fill up with water and makes a humming noise when it's supposed to agitate. It also isnt spinning. This has happened before but it started working after a reset. This time, it wont. Also, it hasnt been spinning the water out of the clothes at times. This latest issue started when i chose the spin cycle from where it didnt spin the water out. Im a single disabled mother who cant afford a service man or the laundry mat. Anyone know whats going on? Ive had it less than a year so i dont think its wore out parts.
