How to replace WIFI antena? Paste it? what about cables?

Hi,

In this picture its the iPhone 2g without the LCD:

Which of the white cable(1, 2 or 3 in the pic) is responsible for the WIFI signal?

How can I know if the problem is the cable, or the whole ANTENNA Module (the red square in picture)?

the phone/network carrier signal is OK, its just the WIFI which bad.

And if I buy this Antenna module:

How the I replace it?

I should paste it?

Is it difficult to install it?

thanks

The white cable is an assembly of 2 cables with total 4 connectors - you need to replace as an assembly if you think it is faulty

See HERE and zoom the picture

This GUIDE should assist in replacing the Antenna module - specifically from step 21.

The module is likely held in with double sided tape. Something like THIS may be suitable for re installation.

Wow.. Thanks for nice answer:)

I have a friend that his WIFI doesn't work.

So I thought to open his iPhone, and try 3 things. Please tell me what you think:#see if the white antenna cable connected in their places. #replacing the Antenna module with Antenna module from an old iPhone. #buying a new Antenna module or white Antenna cables if nothing will work.

Another questions:=*Where is the Antenna that makes the calling signal? I mean the 3G and not the WIFI? I want to know the risk of "playing" with Antenna module part.. if I can make more damage that it was before?

Thanks

By the way - i found out, that the wifi cable is only one of the cables that attached to the Antenna module, what makes me think that it is a big risky to replace the ANTENNA module because I can loos the ability to make calls - 2g/3g/gprs signal. here u see where the wifi is in the buttom,:

Shai if I remember correctly the cables are pop on/ off no glue required. Like iPhone 3G connector for wifi or 3GS connector 7.... So be careful and you'll be fine. The glue is a low temp silica type that they put on at manufacture/assembly to keep everything in place. You don't really need to replace it
