The home button keeps falling out of our iPad Air a1474. It pops back in but it doesn’t stay put as the button has a bit broken off its side…
Just wondering if this could you be replaced without opening the iPad.
This is the home button I require but would like to know if this could be pushed in from the outside of the iPad…

Unfortunately, you will have to remove the digitizer in order to replace the Home Button. This guide will show you how to remove the digitizer but there s no specific guide on replacing the Home Button. Doing an iPad repair is much more complicated than an iPhone repair so if you are hesitant, check the guide first and then decide if you will do it yourself or have it done by a reputable repair shop.

Buy some 5 second fix (thats the commercial name) it’s a fast set UV glue
same as what apple use on the original buttons to hold the bracket in place
it’s a flexible glue when set so you can use small bits around the home key gasket to secure it in place
the button will click like factory
