iPhone 7 plus is randomly shutting down after charging replacement

Hi guys,

my iphone 7 plus is randomly shutting down after charging flex replacament. Besides that everything works fine (taptic engine works, phone is charging when plugged in etc.) but after a while it shuts down and Apple logo appears on the screen and the phone starts again.

I also replaced broken glass but kept the original LCD, so this shouldn’t be causing the issue.

I have already tried to replace the battery for a new one but the issue remained.

Does anyone know what could cause the problem and how to fix it?

I am little bit afraid that the problem could be on the motherboard since it is possible that I damaged some microparts during the replacement.

If the cause of this issue really is the motherboard damage could anyone please give me an advice which part of the motherboard I should check whether is really some part missing there?

Many thanks!

Peter

Which flex did you replace and why ?..there are quite a few in an iPhone :) Unless you replaced it with an original and known good part you might have received a faulty replacement, take that possibility into consideration too. If you fear having dislodged something during replacement you’ll need some magnification, a good light source and some patience, and check carefully the small components surrounding connectors where you might have applied some pressure with a spudger. Wouldn’t be able to recommend more at this stage and with these infos.

As mentioned, sometimes the replacement part is defective.

I’ve has the same symptoms as this on an iphone 7 before, and it was the replacement charging port which was causing the issue.

Thanks for your reply. As I mentioned in my commentary above, I tried to put back the old charging port and the phone was still shutting down. So it seems more like there is a problem somewhere else.
