I was replacing a digitizer on a lower dead strip iphone and when i was reconnecting the new digitizer the little white chip the connector number 2 slides into a little piece chipped out off... how i dont know but everything worked fine i continued but now when i get a call i cant hear over the earpiece and im wondering if that chip could be the reason or is their an earpiece issue and is this fixable or do i have to replace the whole board

Gekozen oplossing

no.3 is for earpiece/proximity and is the connector that slides in to the connection. just recheck that it is in all the way. my phone works perfectly without the tab that holds it in..

Now what if the chip is where the no. 3 ribbon slides into

can you put a photo of the area in please? you may be able to create something to apply pressure to the area when the connector is in place..something like a piece of thin foam or cardboard.
