Why is my LDC not working after digitizer replacement?

Hi. Looking for some assistance.

I changed the digitizer and power button cable on an iPad 3. Touch was not working, so I could not power down the device. Once the repair was completed, I powered it on to test the device and the battery was dead, which was odd because it was at 79% before I began the work. I figure it drained. So, I plugged it in. The screen showed the battery-charging image, but that was it. I walked away for a few minutes and now I have a black screen with no functionality. I know the tablet has powered on because I hear the sing-song when I plug the charger in. Any ideas as to what might have gone wrong?

Thanks for the response. I did check into that because disconnecting the battery is pretty much a standard requirement for any repair. The weird thing is, the instructions didn’t say anything about disconnecting the battery. The battery doesn’t snap into a socket on this model. It’s actually connects by gold contact points beneath the logic board. The instructions and even the video do no include a step for the disconnection of the battery. I also shined a light on the screen as you instructed and still see nothing. It connects to iTunes, though.

If you forgot to disconnect the battery during the repair process, it is possible you blew the backlight sensor. Shine a light on the screen and if you can see the display, very dim, then yes it is blown. The only repair from that point is to repair the sensor with micro-soldering, which can be difficult.

I think that you should hard factory reset it since it connects to iTunes and mabye it’s glitched because it hasn’t restarted properly because all the pixels are glitched don’t panic because there is a solution but you need to look more deeper into it
