replaced HP57 cartridge, now pink/red lines through pics & all color b

Color cartridge was “new” but very old stock. Tried 3 different ones. Every picture we try to print comes out with pink/red horizontal lines all the way down pictures. Background colors are “off” & no red is showing at all. Looks like a black & white photo almost. Took out cartridge to try another one & printer does the same or gets worse. Tried cleaning inside with a cleaning sheet-problem got worse. Ink cartridges have excessive red ink on the outside of them on the gold plate.
