iPhone 7 reboots randomly

Hi all,

I have a problem with my iPhone 7. It reboots itself randomly. The screen goes black and after that the apple logo will come. After that it starts normally. After a while, sometimes immediately, it reboots again.

I restored tje phone in DFU mode but still got the same problem.

What could be te problem?

Have you checked the battery condition and the battery connection?

What happened to the phone in the days leading up to this issue; was it dropped, repaired or came into contact with water? The more information you provide, the better the help you will receive.

The easiest thing, from a DIY perspective, to test is the battery. If you have access to a multimeter, you could measure the voltage directly at the battery. Anything above 3.5V will allow the phone to boot. If you have less than that, then you may have a dead battery or a defective charge circuit (which includes the charger, cable and charging circuit on the logic board).

If the phone was dropped, repaired or came into contact with water, then the problem is probably more serious and will require some more advanced troubleshooting. That will require access to known-good parts and, if it gets that far, board-level skills.

If u restored already and no fix its a hardware problem most likely. So u got it narrowed down at the very least.

  • First check battery connection. Meaning unplug it then plug it back in, then try to turn phone on and see if it repeats. Then check the connectors on the battery’s cable and then the motherboards connector. To see if there are any bent pins or metal obstructing the connection.
  • Then unplug all Connectors that are easy to reach on mobo. Then plug back in and test if it still has the same issue. If still nothing then remove the mobo entirely unplug everything. Now check all of the connectors and cables to see if any parts of the connector are damaged.

If all that still didn’t work u have a dead or dieing part. But lets first do the above steps before testing single parts to see if they work. Thats the last resort. So do the above first.
