iPhone6 flash and front and back camera not working after housing swap

I replaced the housing on my iPhone 6, this was my first time ever doing a housing swap, and after the swap everything was working good except for the cameras and flash, they were just black and the flashlight just didn’t light up. I made sure all the flex cables were seated for the cameras and screen and when I tried again the front camera worked for a bit then glitched out a bit and turned off, and since I can’t get either to work at all. Only thing I can think that I did wrong was I ripped the flex cable a little on top of where it covers the screw for the camera plate.

Any kind of tear on a flex cable is usually enough to cause failure. Most flexes have dozens of fine pitch traces. Look at the flex with magnification. If the Rear Camera fails, it will impede proper function of the flash and (sometimes) front camera.

Since I seen my front camera work for a bit before it turned black, do you think it could still work or would it have broke when it glitched out and stopped working ?

The FCAM is probably fine. Once you resolve the RCAM issue, you'll know for sure.

It sounds like that there could be damage to a few components in there. The Front facing camera / sensor module connect to the board indepedently of the rear camera. The front facing camera / sensor flex could of been damaged when you were taking the screen off your phone. Twisting the display during it’s removal can case damage. I would also check the rear facing camera flex cable for tearing. In terms of the flash module this is on the flex cable which also has your power button. Worth while checking this for damage.

Damage here may of occoured because of mis handing of the flex cables, over tightening of screws or using the incorrect length of screws in a sensative location. Thats just my opinion based on what has been described above. Let me know how you get on.
