My DS lite won’t charge
My ds is fairly old and it hasn’t been charged in years. I tried charging it again but the orange light won’t even show. My charger is new but nothing happens.

This could either be a
- Battery issue; replace the battery
- Charge port issue; replace the motherboard (the charge port is soldered to the mobo and unless you have good microsoldering skills I don’t advise replacing just the port)
- Faulty EM10 power supply filter; repair or replace the motherboard, this requires soldering skills if you wish to repair your mobo. Replacing the mobo is by far easier and less time consuming.

I had a similar issue with my old DS Lite, I noticed while looking into the charging port that it was pretty bent back, I got a flat head screwdriver and pushed it back into place. Although I wouldn’t recommenced using a Flathead screwdriver, I would recommend using a spudger if that’s the issue.
It could be the battery, but if there’s no light at all then I don’t think so, as a DS Lite even without a battery would still make a light when charged.

Now that you mention the battery port, I just noticed that it is a slight bit crooked. Maybe that little thing in the middle could be the problem.
I had similar issue too. I have 2 DS Lite, both of them still working and can be charged but recently, one of the are not charging anymore (the orange light didn't even lights up). I can rule out charger issue (since the other one can still be charged as usual) and battery issue, since it can still be turned on, just not charging anymore.
