Why cant people hear me on phone calls after replacing my screen?

Hi! so my phone has recently been through the works. i replaced the oem screen with one from amazon because it broke. that screen was terrible quality so i bought one from this site instead. but prior to buying this screen from here i replaced my charging port cable because it stopped charging all together one day - also from amazon. Everything is installed at this point and the only issue with my phone is the top speaker wasn’t working unless I put pressure on it. Now that I’ve purchased a better quality screen from ifixit my speaker works! Yay! BUTTTTTT during phone calls people cant hear me, they say they hear 1 out of 5 words as if im going in and out. Now I’ve talked to siri, talk to text, video and voice memos and my mic seems to be perfectly fine. Why is it that people cant hear me?? i called myself from another phone and i can hear myself going in and out on the receiving end… help much appreciated!

i got the charger port in the mail finally! i was sooooo excited to install it so i could stop people from guessing what i was saying lol. i installed it and tested it… sadly, the issue continued happening. i decided to clean off the connections with alcohol and a cotton swab…. i tested it and it worked ! its not like i was eating and working on my phone i promise, maybe i shouldve been wearing gloves lol .. these tiny screws require super focus!

There are multiple microphones in the phone. The microphone that is used during a normal phone call is at the bottom of the phone. Video, Siri, voice to text, etc tend to use the microphone located at the top of the phone next to the earpiece speaker.

I would double check and make sure the microphones attached to the charge port are lined up properly and that the mesh openings at the bottom of the phone are not clogged with dust, dirt, etc. If both of those things check out, I would try a new charge port assembly as the microphone itself could be bad or damaged.

You know what I’m going to say. That this sounds a lot like audio ic disease even though you don’t have other audio symptoms. You’re right. It sounds a lot like audio ic disease….

Whats audio ic disease? im still waiting on the charge port to come in the mail. Was marked off delivered on Friday but i didn't actually get it. So now I've got to get that figured out
