Im trying to take apart my iphone x using the regular pentalobe screwdriver ive used for the iphone 3 to 7. None of my pentalobes will fit and I cant find any documentation on the difference in screw size from the old models. (ive tried like 15 different screwdrivers I cant figure it out)
Im trying to get at the screws at the bottom to open the screen.
What are the specs of the new iphone x screws?

Pentalobe 0.8, also don’t proceed unless you get the Y0.6 tri-wing screwdriver, otherwise you cannot proceed and will have great difficulty to close up the phone because you can’t reapply display adhesive without removing the display first. I’ve tried that, it’s VERY hard and because you can’t clean the seams with the screen on, you won’t get a proper seal. I’ll have to do this again when I get the correct tools.
Also here’s an improvised test for display sealing: dip just part of the phone into the water, blow into the lower left baro vent, if air bubbles come out of the seam under water, it is a bad seal. You can test 3 quarters of the seam this way, for lower left of the phone, block the vent and blow into open SIM slot instead. (I know, this sounds very barbaric, but it works and it’s safer because in this way the air goes out instead of water goes in).

Hi Guys,
I stuck so many times with this problem, just make me headache.
I found a little trick, hope its will help you out.
So…, straight for the first time (don’t force it) I put ballon (or other thin rubber) between the screw and a regular pentalobe screwdriver, and screw it out very very slowly.
This worked for me 9 of 10 iPhone X.

Not an answer but same problem for the 12 promax and the 8. The pentalobes I have just spin. They keep piercing the rubber before they grip. They seem too long and narrow to fit. I need one with a lower shoulder I guess. These are 0.8.
