I think everyone is jumping to conclusions here...let's start with the basics: What exactly is the computer doing when you try to power it on? Does it chime? Is the screen black, or solid white? If white, have you held down the option key while powering on to see if it gives you the option menu? Have you tried resetting the PMU (hold the power button in for 10 seconds with the AC connected until you hear a tone)?

I'd remove the battery, extended RAM, and Airport card, just to rule those items out before you start testing.

Often the clock can show a wrong time if a laptop's battery is fully dead and the laptop sits with no power for a while. In other words, it has no power source in order to maintain the time. That's pretty normal on iBooks, and not a reason for alarm...I see it every day, and when you restore power and connect to the Internet, and reset the time, everything should be fine (as far as the time goes).

Could be a bad DC-In component.

Older mas such as this (G3 Era and before) wouldn't boot if the PRAM battery is dead, that would also go along with the clock being incorrect. you should try replacing that, i belive you can buy them here.

Laptops like these ran PRAM off the battery.

There is/was no PRAM battery that's why you can't find one, or much info about it.

Probably a bad Hard drive or battery. When the battery suddenly drops low you'll see wireless dropping and other strange behavior.

Big difference between being able to charge the battery and a battery that takes a 2hr or so charge.

Good Luck

OK did the remove of airport and mem, no go, still no tone on PMU reset. ???????????? I am able to charge batt but could I still have a DC board issue? Does the fact it charges my batt still boil down to Logic??

I would remove the battery as well. If you have a black screen, and there are no power-up noises at all, the DC-in could be the next step. It could also be the topcase/power button/power cable, or the power cable could be unplugged, but that's unlikely. You might also want to try a different AC adapter just to rule that out. You might also want to remove AC and battery and let the computer sit overnight. Sometimes machines get shorted out and power on again after sitting a while.
