Touch screen unresponsive after replacement.

I recently replaced my touchscreen on my iPhone 4 following the guide on here since it was dropped and the LCD was fubar. After it's been replaced the LCD works but the touch sensor doesn't work. Is there any reason for this to happen? There were no issues with the removal and installation of the new screen only a couple of the screws were a pain. This is a 16 GB black model.

Any thoughts?

There can be several issues:

  1. Connector of the touch is not connected properly
  2. Damaged the touch screen during installation (tare the fragile cable apart or maybe installed some screws wrong which caused the cable to get damaged
  3. Screen is DOA

Good luck!

I already had this problem when disassembling the phone. In my case, I just cleaned (with alcohol) the digitalizer contact (both, the one at the PCB and the connector cable itself). After doin' it, I let the phone opened for a while to let the alcohol dry by complete. Touch sensor working fine since then.

As said before, don't forget to take a look at the screws positions. They just can't be mixed up, every screw has its right place.
