Screen brightens when pressed
Whenever I press the phone near where the connecters are it brightens and when I let go it dims; I have connected and disconnected the connecters multiple times

Make sure the metal plate is tight, and make sure you have foam pads on the connectors. (You can transfer them over from the original)

Sounds like a backlight issue. have you tried the original display?

My bet is you purchased a replacement screen that isn't very high quality. When you press the screen, the backlight layer of the display is coming closer to the screen surface which makes it appear brighter.

@salad Probably a low quality display as Steve Godun said, try the original display if you still have it and report back to us. :)
