It would not restart. I was told by a friend to replace the fuel filter and did so and it still does not start. What could be the problem?

Are there any codes being cast . Do you hear the fuel pump hum ? To check this turn on the key and listen at the side of the truck for a humming sound it should last about 5 seconds or so after turning the key . if you dont hear it you probably have a fuel pump issue and will need to replace it . You may also have an air issue check the air filter if it is plugged bad enough it can cause the same issues . Your best hope for finding the problem is to get the codes read and go from there . Could be bad ignition coil(s). You should see the “Check Engine” light illuminated on the dash. If it is lit up, Autozone can check the code.
