My backlight stopped working!

I installed the glowing iphone speaker mode into my samsung and it made it smoke somehow! I then put it back into my iphone and now the backlight won't turn on! Can still see apps with a torch. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO FIX IT?

did you connect the screen with the battery connected if so then the chances are its the backlight filter has blown
